Apex opens for trading with palm olein futures
The Asia Pacific Exchange (Apex) officially opened for trading on Friday, welcoming strong performance on its inaugural palm olein futures contract. The contact traded at a high of $665 and a low of $640, and the total volume traded was 3589 lots after one hour of trading. In a statement released on Friday, the group said that the introduction of its palm olein futures contract “solved problems faced by current market players in terms of currency risk and the settlement process” given that it is denominated in US dollars, which puts it in line with the trade settlement currency for spot palm olein.
