As of 7-05-2009, 100% profit from this website will go to KIVA.org. At Kiva you can give out small loans ($25) to individuals in undeveloped countries. People get these loans to run small businesses etc. I've been doing this since Nov 2008 and people do pay me back. I just use the money to lend out to other people again and again. My goal is to lend out to 100 people this year. That's why 100% profit from http://VanDarkholme.com will go toward my Kiva goal. 居然过了一千赞，感谢大家！

2017年11月，Van在自己的网站发了一篇文章（标题就是CHINA！），特意感谢了中国的粉丝，还贴了一个UP主做的视频。

以下是我翻译过来的版本：

中国！
过去几年里我收到了很多来自中国的邮件，那里的90后00后的年轻人发现了我。最开始是距今大概10年前日本的粉丝们最先在http://Nicovideo.jp 和 YouTube制作出了很多关于我各种各样超级棒的视频。

对不起我不能一一回复这些来自中国的邮件。但是我每一封都认真的看过了。感谢大家邀请我去你们的国家。很遗憾我年纪大了，跑不动粉丝见面会什么的了。还有的人给我发了Bilibili的链接，不过都是中文我看不懂。下面的是其中一个视频，我觉得做的很棒！

再说一说关于我自己的事。我父亲的爷爷是中国人。我的曾祖父穿过越南北部的边界来到越南发展家族。所以我比我的父亲还矮一点。我的父亲来自北部，那边的代表就是律师，战斗机，贵族什么的。我的母亲来自于南部，她这边就是种田的农民和普通的劳动人民。这样的基因大概就是我能练就一身肌肉的原因吧:)

正经答一下吧，在众多GV男影星中，Van是我最敬佩的一位。首先，对于自己的很多作品被恶搞，自己被做成表情包，van表示不在意（没准还挺开心），他和比利王是唯二的承认（or认可？）自己的作品被恶搞的。
上面很多答主也提到了，作为一个越南裔的演员，van没有止步于表演，而是自己成立了公司，成为了制片人（制作人？新日暮里大师）。与此同时他还热衷于慈善行业，援助了很多越南的穷人。还有就是Van几乎没有参与过任何中国or日本漫展类的商业活动，他所从事的工作就是坚守那个GV行业，还有为LGBT声援。
顺带一提比利王目前好像在纽约，除了参与中日漫展，自己还经营一家搬家公司。
一直以来我们都戏称Van是新日暮里黑暗势力，但是我相信表演之外，日常生活中，van的内心一定是无比光明的，他明白自己从事的行业的特殊性，他并没有把自己摆上台面大肆宣传自己，而是在那个小圈子，按自己的兴趣做自己的工作，同时还援助自己祖国包括亚洲地区的穷人。
这个既给大家带来欢笑，也让世界变得更美好的人，难道不值得大家尊敬吗？

大致意思就是他收到了来自中国的邮件，which tells him他在中国出名了，他觉得B站的视频做的很棒棒，觉得很excited（虽然并看不懂）
他有中国血统，曾祖父是中国人，母亲是越南人（Van对应的姓氏应该是王或者文？）

For the past few years, I've received tons of emails from China. Their millennials and generation z have discovered me. I have to say the Japanese fans were the first about a decade ago by making thousands of these incredible videos of my movies (http://Nicovideo.jp and YouTube).
I'm sorry but I couldn't reply to all of the emails from China. I do read them all though. And, thank you for your invite to your country. I'm just too damn old to do the fan things. Someone sent me some links from Bilibili.com. It's all in Chinese so I can't make anything out. Below is one of the videos. It's quite amazing!
Here's a little something about me. My father's grandfather was Chinese. My great grandfather crossed the North Vietnam border and started his family there. That's why I'm 6′ tall and my father was 6'3″. In the north and on my father side, there were lawyers, jet fighter, and noblemen. In the south and on my mother side, there were rice farmers and laborers. That's where I got the genetics for muscles :)
