有趣的是，严格来说“酒吧（吧台）”只是个提供酒水的柜台，所以，俱乐部和酒馆都是有酒吧（bars）的，而酒吧就只是个酒吧而已。:p
也有一些专门提供运动赛事直播的体育酒吧
同时，餐馆里也有酒吧（餐馆名字里一般有“酒吧和烧烤”（bar and grill）这种字眼，比如：伯尼家的烧烤酒吧），所以，如果在餐馆排队等桌子时间太长的时候，服务生可能会问你想不想去吧台点杯喝的坐着等。服务生也可能会问你想不想去“（吧台区）bar side”坐坐，意思就是他们家有个吧台啦。而且吧台边上一般都会有电视，所以坐在吧台边上最主要的好处就是能看电视（运动赛事什么的）。
