Euronext to upgrade futures technology in 2019
Exchange group Euronext has said it will migrate its derivatives markets to new technology in 2019 after moving its equities and fixed income instruments to the platform at the end of last month.
Euronext, which operates exchanges in various European cities including Paris, Amsterdam and Brussels, said in a statement on Tuesday it migrated at the end of June its equities, exchange-traded funds, structured products and fixed income instruments to the new technology called Optiq.
The exchange said in its statement: “The final step in Optiq’s deployment will be to migrate Euronext derivatives markets to the new platform next year. Euronext will continue to work closely with its clients to optimise the use of the platform and make the most of Optiq’s technological advantages for their benefit.”
Optiq is Euronext’s proprietary trading technology that offers trading speed as low as 15 micro-seconds and has the ability to handle high volumes of messages.
